Through lectures, discussions, and practice teaching exercises, we will explore dance teaching and pedagogy. We will dive into the practicalities of teaching, such as basic class structure, building curriculum, and how to get jobs. With curiosity, we will approach dance pedagogy, questioning what is pedagogy? What does it mean to hold the space as a teacher/facilitator? In small groups, we will practice teaching and have the opportunity to receive feedback from our peers. Let’s share and explore together what dance teaching and pedagogy can be!
