Raising Girls of Color: How can we help our girls and young women of color break through glass ceilings and be inclusive leaders?

The next conversation in our Inclusive Leadership Breakfast Series will focus on Raising Girls of Color: Helping our Girls and Young Women of Color Break Through Glass Ceilings and Be Inclusive Leaders. It takes place on Friday, March 17 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center in southeastern San Diego.

Join this important conversation to better understand how you can improve the outcomes for girls and young women of color in San Diego – at school, at work, and throughout our society.

After a highly contentious 2016 election season and a post-election era marked by sexism and an alarming rise in the number of hate incidents in our schools and communities, the fierce urgency of now has never been more important. Too many of us entrusted with raising girls of color are losing hope that glass ceilings can be shattered, feeling helpless to empower, and are overwhelmed by this awesome responsibility in difficult times.

Parents, educators, youth workers, and concerned community members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in this breakfast conversation. Our goal is for each of us to leave better informed, more committed, and well-prepared to stand up for and take meaningful actions together to greatly improve the quality of life for our daughters, sisters, and nieces.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $25 per person. Please RSVP by purchasing your ticket today. And Join our Civic Engagement Initiatives mailing list to be among the first to receive news on upcoming breakfast events.
